Peptidci

Peptitler (Grekçe: πεπτίδια; “küçümencik sindirilebilirler”) tanımlanmış bir düzende, α-amino asitlerin birbirine bandajlanmasıyla oluşan gücük polimerlerdir.[1] Bir amino asit sözıntısı ile diğeri arasındaki bağ bir “amit bağ” yahut peptit bağı olarak bilinir.[1]

Tetrapeptit (Oligopeptit)
Proteinler polipeptit molekülleridir (yahut çok adetda polipeptit madun birimi barındırır). Baş nüans peptitlerin gücük, polipeptitlerin/proteinlerin ise uzun olmasıdır.[1]

Protein sentezi esnasında her amino asit, vesair amino asite sakır sakır, kırılmayan bir polimer olan polipeptid zincirleriyle bandajlanır. Polipeptid dokumasına merhametsizlan amino asitlerin her biri dokumaya peptid bandajlarıyla bandajlanır. Peptid bağının oluşumu esnasında amino asitlerden birinin amino grubu ile diğerinin karboksil grubu, aradan bir su çıkması sonucu birleşirler.[1]

Averaj bir polipeptit zinciri 450 amino asitten oluşur.[1] Aşina en uzun polipeptit, ortalama 27,000 amino asitten oluşan, kas dokusunda mevcut “titin”dir. Polipeptid zincirine merhametsizlan amino asitlere sözıntı (residue) adı verilir.[1] Zincirin bir ucundaki sözıntı, bağ yapmamış, erkin amino grubu barındırır ve N ucu olarak adlandırılır. Aynı şekilde zincirin vesair ucundaki erkin α-karboksil grubu olan sözıntıevet C ucu adı verilir.
